Green has been a reoccurring trend in the flooring industry for many years. But have you ever considered what truly makes a green product or the benefits that are passed down to homeowners?

Earlier this year, we re-launched the Villa collection as the EcoSense collection to refocus the line on sustainable products.

Currently, our collection includes the Bamboo series and Javawood series. These two product lines are both highly sustainable compared to other wood species. Bamboo plantations replenish every 5 to 7 years while Javawood plantations replenish every 10 to 14 years.

Javawood is also unique because of its usability across many industries. Also known as Hevea or Rubberwood, Javawood is a Southeast Asian species that produces latex. Once the trees have been tapped for latex, the tree itself serves no other purpose and is cut down for furniture or flooring production.

Definitely take a look at the new Javawood series if you or your customer are looking for a product similar to maple that is more sustainable with similar looks. Javawood has deep colors and grains, which gives it a nice display of depth and tones in any room.
